The arts and music are one of the first things to get budget cuts…right now I am seeing my old high school, which has a NATIONAL competitive marching band (top ten several times in the BOA national competitions) get cutbacks in budgets while the football team (which isn’t that great) is riding in coach buses to close games.
I feel that music is right up there with academics, but of course I think this since I’m going to become a music teacher. I’d like to hear everyone else’s take on this issue.
